Myriad Multi-Format Film Holder

Digitising Guide - Part 2

Sometimes you may need to digitise a partial film strip or a single frame that's too short to feed, align, and remove. Or, maybe you have a film strip that's badly curved or distorted and won't feed easily. Don't worry, you can still use Myriad to digitise your images!

First, remove the wing-nuts and top panel.

Then, flip the upper and lower film guides over and position them like this:

Place the section of film (with any curvature facing downwards) so that the image you want to digitise is positioned centrally on the diffuser:

Replace the top panel. There's no need to re-fit the wing-nuts, as the weight of the top panel is enough to hold the film flat:

Adjust the position of the light panel and film holder until the image is centered in the camera's Live View display, then take the shot.

For subsequent frames, just follow the same steps.

NOTE: At the end of your digitising session, always return the film guides to their normal position to prevent accidental damage.
